For generations Kerry has been a magnet for vacationers the world over and part of it’s attraction is the plethora of festivals and events that take place year round.

Listowel Writer's Week

Since its humble beginnings in 1971 ' Writer’s Week ' has grown to become one of Ireland’s leading literary festivals. From the beginning Writer’s Week pioneered the concept of the literary workshop and now hosts a total of ten workshops each year during its festival, dealing with all styles of writing.


World Bodhrán Championships

The World Bodhrán Championships is an exciting new world percussion festival held annually in Milltown, County Kerry. The event which promotes and showcases the Irish frame drum, the bodhrán, includes four days of concerts, music sessions, workshops and the competitions to find the best bodhrán player in the world. The festival takes place from 30th May to 2nd June 2008


Ballybunion International Bachelor Festival

The Ballybunion Bachelor of the year is selected at this annual festival which is one of the best known festivals in the country. To enter hopefuls are required to have a sponsor and should be prepared to take part in a wide range of activities all in the good name of fun!


Killarney Summerfest

One of Ireland’s premier family festivals with a wide range of activities to appeal to all ages and tastes, such as the Teddy Bear’s Picnic, outdoor theatre, children’s workshops, summer camp and much more. Westlife will perform a concert in Fitzgerald Stadium on June 22nd, as part of the Festival.

Killarney National Park

The event is a unique celebration of adventure sports against the rich story of Ireland’s nature and culture and with events scheduled from 2008 to 2010, will establish the Atlantic sea board of Ireland as a premier adventure destination.

Restaurant David Norris

Tralee's best fine dining restaurant is to be found upstairs on Ivy Terrace, just around the corner from the Brandon Hotel. Euro-toques chef David Norris worked in many establishments both at home and abroad before coming back home to Tralee and opening this restaurant under his own name


Castlelough Restaurant

The Lake Hotel is a charming family run hotel, superbly located on the shore of the world famous Lakes of Killarney. Nestled at the water’s edge in the shadow of a picturesque mountain range, it has been a real home from home for thousands of visitors for well over a century.


The Smugglers Inn
